"The Jacksons Live!" (also known simply as Live) is a live album by The Jacksons, released on November 11, 1981, by Epic Records. The album was recorded during the band's North American Triumph Tour in the fall of 1981. It is a double album, compiled from live performances in Buffalo, Providence, Atlanta, and New York City. The live album went on to sell over two million copies worldwide.
The setlist from the 1981 tour featured a mix of the band's biggest hits, including tracks from their 1980 album Triumph, two songs from Destiny (1978), a medley of their classic Motown hits, and several songs from Michael Jackson's solo album Off the Wall (1979). The performances showcased the group's dynamic stage presence, with Michael Jackson taking the lead on most of the songs.
The Triumph Tour marked the last time the Jacksons would tour together for three years. Following the tour, Michael Jackson would focus on recording his groundbreaking album Thriller (1982), which would become one of the best-selling albums of all time. The group would reunite in 1984 for their final tour together, the Victory Tour, although Jackie Jackson was absent for part of the tour due to a knee injury. In 1988, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the Triumph Tour as one of the best 25 tours between 1967 and 1987, cementing its legacy as a standout moment in the band's career.
