Triumph

"Thunder Seven" is the seventh studio album by Canadian hard rock band Triumph, released in November 1984. The album features a mix of hard rock tracks and a conceptual second half, with three songs exploring time-related themes. These tracks delve into the concept of time, adding a unique dimension to the band's typical hard rock style. The album achieved significant commercial success, earning a gold certification from the RIAA in the United States for sales of over 500,000 copies. This certification came almost 19 years after its original release, on April 21, 2003. The album produced two notable singles. "Follow Your Heart" became the band's highest-charting single at the time, reaching #88 in both the UK and the US. "Spellbound" was also released as a single, though it was less successful, only charting in Canada and failing to break into the top 100 elsewhere. Thunder Seven was also significant for being the last Triumph album to be written entirely by the band's members, with no contributions from outside songwriters. All previous albums, except Rock & Roll Machine (1977), had been written solely by the band. The album's cover art was created by artist Dean Motter and features a mechanized version of Leonardo da Vinci's famous Vitruvian Man, adding a visual representation of the album's themes of technology and time.
