America

"Silent Letter" is the eighth studio album by the American folk rock duo America, released by Capitol Records in June 1979. This album marked the first release following the departure of Dan Peek and was notable for being America's first album on Capitol Records as well as the last produced by George Martin. The title of the album is a playful nod to the absence of the letter "H," referencing silent letters in the English language. Musically, the album features a mix of fast-paced disco tracks, piano-driven power ballads—often sung by Gerry Beckley—and mid-tempo pop rock songs.
