"Holiday" is the fourth studio album by the American folk rock band America, released in June 1974 by Warner Bros. Records. Produced in London by George Martin, the album marked the first of seven consecutive collaborations between Martin and the band. The album was a commercial success in the US, reaching number 3 on the Billboard album chart and earning gold certification from the RIAA. It produced two hit singles: "Tin Man," which reached number 4 on the Billboard singles chart and number 1 on the adult contemporary chart, and "Lonely People," peaking at number 5 on the Billboard singles chart while also hitting number 1 on the adult contemporary chart. Additional tracks like "Baby It's Up To You" and "Another Try" received significant radio airplay. The album was also released on Quadrophonic reel-to-reel tape for 4-channel enthusiasts. Band member Dewey Bunnell expressed excitement about working with Martin, noting the familiarity and shared sense of humor they had. Dan Peek recalled discussions about using Martin as their producer, acknowledging his impressive arranging skills. This album also marked the recording debut of America's longtime drummer, Willie Leacox, who is featured in the car on the cover photo.
