Cactus

"Cactus Flower" is a 1969 American romantic comedy film directed by Gene Saks, based upon the Broadway stage play written by Abe Burrows, which in turn was based upon a play by Pierre Barillet and Jean-Pierre Gredy. In the film, Julian Winston, portrayed by Walter Matthau, is a dentist in middle-aged bachelorhood who's fooling around with young, pretty Toni Simmons, acted by Goldie Hawn. To cover up his flirtatious lifestyle, Winston lies that he has a wife and three kids. When Toni demands proof and threatens suicide, Julian must find a lady to pose as his wife, leading to hilarious shenanigans. Goldie Hawn won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in her role as Toni Simmons. The film also stars Ingrid Bergman as Winston's prickly nurse. The soundtrack for the film, featuring Quincy Jones, also garnered acclaim. To clarify, "Cactus Flower" is a film, not an album, but its music plays an essential role in the narrative, often creating a playful, romantic, and chaotic atmosphere that mirrors the characters' complicated relationships.
