Suicidal Tendencies

"Still Cyco After All These Years" is an album by the American crossover thrash band, Suicidal Tendencies. Released in 1993, it's largely a re-recording of the band's 1983 self-titled debut album, featuring updated sound quality and some slight revisions to the music. The album incorporates covers of some of the band's earlier singles and songs, setting a firm link to their past. The original compositions for "Still Cyco After All These Years" were written by frontman Mike Muir prior to their contract with Epic Records in 1990. However, due to disputes with the record company, these tracks were re-recorded and included in this 1993 album instead. The album's re-recordings bridge the gap between Suicidal Tendencies' punk roots and their more complex thrash metal style that they evolved into over the years. Standout tracks include "Institutionalized," "I Shot the Devil," and "Subliminal.". Notable members of the band during the making of this album included lead vocalist Mike Muir, guitarist Rocky George, and bassist Robert Trujillo, who would later go on to play for Metallica. Despite its heavy reliance on re-recorded material, "Still Cyco After All These Years" has stayed popular among fans for capturing the raw energy and aggression that Suicidal Tendencies is known for.
