"Three Sides of One" is the 13th studio album by American rock band King's X, released on September 2, 2022, through Inside Out Music. It is their first studio album in fourteen years, following 2008's XV, marking the longest gap between two studio albums in the band's career.
Work on Three Sides of One began as early as 2010, but progress was slow due to each band member focusing on solo and side projects. The album's development was further delayed by health issues: drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered two heart attacks, and bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick was diagnosed with a lymph node infection. By 2015, both members had recovered, and Pinnick expressed the band's commitment to a new record.
In August 2018, Pinnick announced that King's X had officially decided to work on the album, discussing the logistical and creative details needed for its completion. The band signed with the Australian independent label Golden Robot Records and planned a 2019 release, but faced delays due to COVID-related issues and slow progress on new material.
By April 2022, the album was reported to be mastered. King's X signed with Inside Out/Sony Music and announced a release date of September 2, 2022. The album title, Three Sides of One, was revealed on June 24, 2022, alongside the lead single "Let It Rain." The subsequent singles "Give It Up" and "All God's Children" followed on July 27 and August 26, respectively.
