"Sheffield Steel" is Joe Cocker's eighth studio album, released in 1982. Produced by Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin, the album features contributions from Sly and Robbie, Wally Badarou, Barry Reynolds, Mikey Chung, and Uziah "Sticky" Thompson, collectively known as the Compass Point Allstars, named after the renowned Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas. This album marked Cocker's debut with Island Records and followed a four-year hiatus after his previous release, Luxury You Can Afford. The album was re-released in 2002 with additional bonus tracks.
