"Freaky Styley" is the second studio album by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 16, 1985, through EMI America Records. It marks the studio debut of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak, who rejoined the band earlier that year. The album is also the last to feature drummer Cliff Martinez. Produced by George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic, the recording sessions benefited from Clinton's distinctive influence.
The music on Freaky Styley incorporates elements of funk, punk rock, and psychedelic rock, with lyrics inspired by the band's experiences in Hollywood. Promotional singles from the album include "Jungle Man" and "Hollywood (Africa)," while "Catholic School Girls Rule" and "Jungle Man" also received music videos. Critics praised the album for its musical experimentation and production, seeing it as an improvement over the band's debut. Despite this, the album did not achieve mainstream success and failed to enter the Billboard 200. The band supported the album with the Infinity Tour.
