Pretty Things

'Resurrection' is a live album by The Pretty Things, a English rock band, first released in 1998. This album is significant as it represents a live performance in London by the key members of the Pretty Things in the late '90s. Notably, the specific lineup for this show hadn't played together since the 1970s. The performance essentially revisits the band's 1968 album, 'S.F. Sorrow', which is considered one of the first rock operas. The album was revolutionary for its time, contributing to the progression of the concept album genre. In 'Resurrection', the band sought to recreate 'S.F. Sorrow' live in its entirety. The album includes guest performances by David Gilmour and Arthur Brown. 'Resurrection' also includes an updated studio recording of the song “The Loneliest Person”, initially a part of 'S.F. Sorrow'. Unfortunately, the album wasn’t as impactful as they'd hoped. Nonetheless, 'Resurrection' is seen as a nostalgic piece, providing fans the opportunity to experience a live performance of 'S.F. Sorrow' by the original members of The Pretty Things.
