Pretty Things

"Savage Eye" is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Pretty Things, released in 1976. The album came during a period when the band was transitioning from their earlier psychedelic and R&B roots to a more rock-oriented sound. It was one of the last albums to feature the band's classic lineup before members began departing. The album includes tracks that blend hard rock with elements of glam rock, showcasing the band's adaptability to the changing musical landscape of the 1970s. Notably, "Savage Eye" followed the relative success of their previous album, "Silk Torpedo," and was released under the Swan Song label, which was owned by Led Zeppelin. Despite some positive critiques, "Savage Eye" did not achieve significant commercial success. Lyrically, the album explores themes such as romance and introspection, characterized by witty and sometimes darker narratives. Although the album wasn't a major hit, it remains a notable entry in the Pretty Things' discography for its representation of the band's evolutionary sound during the mid-70s.
